Default M1A Cheek Riser

After putting a scope on my M1A, I find that it sits a bit high for a good cheek weld. I'd appreciate suggestions for a cheek riser that stays put. I prefer leather but will consider other material.

I do not want the M1 Garand style cheek piece as it offsets the face to the left because of the type of mount used on Garands.

An inexpensive way is to use 3M VetRap for horses and foam rubber. I use the black wrap and foam on my AK and have used it on my M1A.

This link gives an idea as to what I'm talking about: https://www.range365.com/diy-rifle-c...n-cheap#page-5

I have tried most all of them over the years.
The best in my opinion is the Tac-Pro M14 kydex strap on. It is padded on the underside so a nice stock will not be damaged and is easily moved from one rifle to another or removed for use of iron sights.

What Art said. I like the Tac-Pro also. It is much more solid than I thought it would be.

I have the Triple-K, if you need pictures I can get them for you, and it was a real chore to get it on. It took a couple hours to get the lacing tight enough that the pad would not roll or slide anywhere. With that being said it was going on an early Super Match and I didn't like the idea of having plastic or anything other than leather on it. I think the Tac-Pro is easier to use, comes on and off easier, but if you don't mind the extra work and the cheek pad isn't coming off regularly, then I would take a look at the Triple-K as well.

I looked at the instructions for installing the Tac-Pro. When I realized it involved drilling holes in my stock, I stopped it right there. I have an above average figured walnut stock and I'm not about to drill holes in it.

OTOH, I went to Cheek-N-Stock's website and when I tried to call the number listed, it says it's been disconnected. I sent an email and have not gotten a reply. I guess they're no longer in business.

The search continues.......

If you are open to a Kydex version, you might want to consider Bradley cheek risers.
