Default 03-A3's at the Garand Match?

Is it legal/permitted to shoot a Springfield 03-A3 at the JCG match during the Nat'l Matches?

I (and a friend) seem to remember something to the fact that it was legal (and the M1 carbine, too), but we can't find anything in the new rulebook at all (that sez you MUST shoot a Garand in the Garand match). I also seem to recall something about that on the scorecards, also.

My buddy just got a 'new' 1903A3, and was hoping to shoot it in both matches (Springfield & JCG), rather than borrow someone else's Garand (and mess with the sights etc...).

Thanx

Many years ago--before CMP had the Springfield match, it was allowed, IIRC. Today; no--the Garand match is for M1s (carbines and Johnson1941s) and the Springfield match is for 1903s. BTW--your score sheet and the way you fill it out determines which match you are shooting in. Good Shooting...
