This is only my second year, but heard there was a specific reason why the scheduling was very different from last year. Any ideas why?

Update.. Nevermind. I should read the sticky messages first...

Not signed up yet, but p 100 and NTI. I've been shooting those 2 matches for over 1/2 my life.

Good to see there are some competitors on here.

Anyone else that actually uses these rifles in competition?

Guessing about 20 or so answered above, Perry CMP week has what, a few thousand competitors? If so, that's about 1%.

Most of the good competitors are too busy to post on the forum. They're busy loading ammo and dry firing like serious athletes.

Seriously, I think a lot of the competitors are not on the forum. This forum tends to focus on the collecting aspect of the CMP's rifle offerings. Most shooters are not collectors. To them, the M1 is just a tool for the game. I even find myself viewing my competition M1 in that light. It is currently all "correct" except for the stock and rear sight, but I bought it as a service grade, and I'm using it as a service grade. I added a rear sight with a smaller aperture and clenaed up the trigger. Some day the barrel will be worn out, and I'll swap it for a Krieger. Plans like that make the hard core collectors shudder, so I just shut my trap and shoot.

There are also a lot of competitors/forum members I see at matches who have not replied to your post.

Matt

SAFS rifle, Springfield match, Vintage match, Carbine match, John C Garand match, Presidents match and NTI. Taking 9 days off of work in a row and don't feel a bit bad about it. Best part is I get to sleep in my own bed every night!

Add Vintage / Bolt to my list... If I am going to be tired, sunburnt and skeeter bitten I may as well be TIRED, SUNBURNT and SKEETER BITTEN.

Registered for SAFS and JCG along with oldest son. Late to the game but the CT didn't say they were full (though it said JCG Rodriguez AM was full) so I'm hoping we get confirmed.

We shot in our local match last weekend so feel more confident now. Just last night I got permission from SWMBO to go ("Have you got enough vacation for that?" "Yes, dear" "You owe me" "I will owe you my whole natural life, dear").

Looking for tent camping site; found several through another thread - now to see who has room that week.
