Smile Tribute to my father...

I wanted to bring this thread forward from the old forum...

"Back in April, I received my Rack Grade Inland Carbine. It was my intention to build a tribute to my recently passed father. He carried a carbine thoughout Europe, including a few cold days at a place called Bastogne.
Much to my disbelief, almost all of the parts on my Inland were Winchester including a barrel with a ME of <1.

Upon contacting Dean @ www.DGRguns.com we contracted to a rebuild project and agreed to swap my Inland receiver for a Winnie. It took a couple of extra months to accumulate the balance of the correct parts, but we finally got everything down to him.

In the meantime, I sent a blank piece of Fancy Grade Walnut (40 years old) to www.wenig.com for milling into a new stock. They shipped the stock to Dean who did the final fit and finish. Dean recently completed the rebuild doing an incredible job of reparking and finishing the 5.7 million s/n Winnie.

Hopefully, you'll enjoy looking... I think my father would have been very pleased.

Default Oh, wow!

So nice! I was happy with my SG QHC, have now decided to use it for next year's tomato vines.

Incredibly nice wood. In particular I like the greenish tint to the repark. I've got a rack grade all Win that i'm thinking of having reparked but would only do it if it would get the greenish look.

Ur dad would have loved it.

I believe your father would be very pleased with your tribute. A beautiful restoration and wonderfully figured wood. He'd be very proud you. Eddie
