Default Moss 44 vs Kimber 82

Those of you who have both of the above rifles, is the Kimber more accurate? (I know the sights on the Kimber are more refined)

Reason I ask is I have a CMP Mossberg 44 and I like it a lot, but I find myself looking really closely at the Kimber.

Any opinions?

Buy the kimber as it will outshoot the mossberg by a WIDE margin. The kimber gets more accurate the more you shoot it. My kimber likes the wolf target ammo the best.

I shoot NRA prone matches with my CMP Mossberg (175$).
Another competitor has a CMP Kimber (600$).
His NRA rating is Master; I'm rated Sharpshooter.

Prone match: you, the rifle, and a sling, open sights, no supports.
50 yards, 4 targets, 20 shots, 20 minutes.
10 ring is slightly smaller than a dime

Across a 16 target match, he outshoots me by about 20 points total.

To that end, the rifles seem to be at least equal, with the difference being the consistency of the person behind the trigger.

For example, last match, on one set of 4 targets, I shot 48-2x, 49-3x, 50-3x, then choked on one with a 41-1x.
and I know the 41 was my fault, not the rifles fault.

It would be interesting to let the Master shoot your rifle for one match and you his. Just for a comparison purpose. I shoot a M-44 also. It can be a little frustating but still fun.
