Default SS 17/8/13 Afteroon Rpt

Arrived with my Brother around noonish. Leon was out on another mission for the CMP but Mike is a quite astute and suitable substitute. Mother Hubbard's cupboards are relatively bare. Plenty of M1Ds and M1Cs in various grades. Spotted one FG M1D with a double stamped GAW and large ord wheel. Muzzle was less than two, throat was less than 3. WWII trigger guard, -12 bolt and trigger housing, winged plunger, U safety (not "krinkle" finish), 65 series op rod, SA front end. Only thing I really frowned at was the birch HGs and buttplate was a little proud. Over all a great piece for some one at $1200 (it is still in the store). Didn't inspect the M1Cs but I think there is some gold in the field grade metal. Anyone change to a better barrel and wood. A bunch of HRA SGSs, .22 stocks, M14 stocks, just under a dozen SA B/Rs with bolts, NO SA, WRA, HRA RGs, FGs, nor SGs. Half dozen or so chromed '03 and '03A3 drill rifles with heavy welds for $175. Found a barrel full of chromed 03 and 03A3 barreled receiver drill and/or welded assys. My brother helped be go through them and I came away with a NICE 277xxx Rock Island with Hatcher hole, USMC "pipe wrench" marked USMC Sedgeley barrel with ME1 and a hair, TE 2. $75. Just haven't decided whether to remove the chrome or not. Pic later. We went through the Navy Mod 1s and came away with two. NOT HRA nor AMC marked SA 65 barrels ME 1, TE 1!!!!! Two boxed of $2.50 greek leather slings most with Garand style metal. Got one just for the helluvit. Also found the short piece of a 1907. No joy finding the other piece. See them all the time on FleaBay though. Four boxes of terribly rusty carbine mags. Brother and I picked a can of AP each (no WWII cans but great post war cans) and I picked up a can of M118LR for ColB. Had a good time and happy with what I came away with.

***What I did NOT come away with was the stripped 65series bolt I used to check headspace on the Mod 1s...I may have left it on the counter or even in one of the SA Mod 1s. If one of the staff found it, I'll call Monday. If one of you shoppers finds it in a receiver, PLEASE turn it in to the staff****

The stripped receiver counter. Some nice and some not so nice Garand and low number 03/03A3 receivers.

A bunch of bayos. Half a dozen 16". A couple (SA 1908, SA 1909) were prety doggone nice for "rack grade".

There is drwhitte lightening the Kimber load

A bunch of M1 drill rifles

Chrome drill or welded 03s and 03A3s
