Right...So perhaps an original barrel. Just not sure when it was put on.

The breech is shiny with no park. However, the bolt and op rod are from post WW II era. I know the trigger group is SA but I have not dated it yet. Trigger pull is a smooth 5lbs 10 ounces from an average of five. The barrel is cleaning up nice and I wonder what kind of groups this one will shoot. Time will tell.

I can see how this becomes very addicting. My trip to CMP was a lifetime trip but I am now thinking up ways to try to get there again.... :-)

Default Winchester from SS

Hello Daffy, thank you for pointing out that Winchester with WRA barrel, bolt and front sight. I've got an uncut 6 rod if someone wants to trade for a Win one.

Picked up my WRA from Fedex this evening. Going to try out this photostream link to see if it works. I could not make it out in the SS lighting, but I'm pretty sure there's a SA/GAW cartouche under the rebuild stamp. LMR 10-53 barrel, HRA trigger housing and bolt. I think I got about the last one on the rack with a GI stock, and I'm happy it's got an LMR barrel to boot.

Very nice! You scored well! Hope the store's restocked with WRA'S for this week. Tried calling the store today, but nobody answered the phone.

Congratulations!
Mike

You do know that CMP will be in Oklahoma City April 8 thru 12 for matches? Match program says rifles will be available for sale. Will save you a lot of driving.

Yes sir. I went to the games in Arcadia last year. I have to be headed that way anyways, TDY for the Army. Going to make a slight detour. Always wanted to go to the SS and know I have an excuse. Hopefully I don't strike out.
