Default disappearing South Store report

Does anyone know what happened to PH68's South Store Report of June 13? I was trying to keep up with the latest 1903 releases to decide if it was time for another trip to Anniston next Thursday.

It appears that all postings after June 7th until yesterday have gone missing.
If I recall the SS report, this coming week looks like a good time to go and there was still some available with the last store closing report. I thought I had read there was also a restock of 1903's

When I left the store in the afternoon on Saturday there were still approx. 20 1903s left in the racks.
Lots of low wear number Dark Bores with many that looked like they would clean up to be decent.
Most of the wood is real nice.
There was a few left with Good Bores as well.

I picked up an 850K serial range Springfield with a Good Bore 1/1 that had a General Motors Rebuild stamp and an HS '44 barrel.
My buddy, Paul, picked up a Marine Corps Rifle with a real nice barrel. It had most of the characteristics of those and looked to have had very little, if any, use. That was quite a find IMO.

good luck,
Rob

Assuming you are asking about barrel wear numbers I saw quite a few with ME of 1 and a few as high as 3+, though there was at least one marked with an ME of 3+ that actually measured closer to 5 when measured with my gauge. It always pays to double-check the tag readings.

I believe the 1903s are $650 + Tax, which is 10% at the South Store and lower at the CMP Range store (maybe 7%?).

Rob

Oh, and it probably needs to be said that there is a one per year limit on any 1903 or 1903-A3 rifle.

Also, I do not believe a purchase of a 1903 counts against your Garand yearly purchase limit.

If I recall correctly, the prices varied by condition and stocks. Thought that they topped out at $750+tax for a "C" stocked 1903...

There were 53 rifles at closing. There was a 7 1903 rifle restock at mid-day and two additional at closing..

PERSONAL NOTE: Right at closing there were two additional 1903 rifles put out, one I believe to be a USMC rifle, which I purchased, right time and right place.... I have been hoping that one would show up in this release, it was a good day. The tag indicated that it was. J.B. inspected rifle SA #836521. I will post it under bolt action rifle section and maybe J.B. can provide additional details from his inspection for me.

CMP Specials, 3

Daisy air rifle, 1.

1903, 27, many be a few more next week, only a guess.

IHC SG 8/ FG 5

WRA FG, 3

M1C SA SG, 1

M1D WRA RG, 5

Good luck on your searches.
