Does anyone think that this is actually an original carbine? Just curious.

Post 7 speaks volumes. Combine that with the dovetail issue, as pointed out by OP.
But I believe the question was to value.
Sum of parts?

It was more of a rhetorical question...I was just making sure.

The serial number on my Battlefield-pickup Rockola is 4,572,XXX, which is about 28,000 higher than the one pictured by the OP. My carbine has the type 2 push button safety, but has the Type 3 trigger housing (fabricated rather than milled). The front sight on my carbine is also fabricated, rather than milled. The BR marked magazine catches look the same, as far as I can tell. My carbine's rear sight is pitted on both sides to the point that I can't see the original markings. The Hammer on my Rockola is marked LT-Q with a tiny "R" stamped above it. The barrel band that was on my Rockola is now just a rust stain in the dirt near Metz, France, so no comparison there. None of these observations on my original carbine mean that the carbine pictured above isn't correct or original. These are simply observations. I wouldn't mind having the pictured carbine.
