Smile New Guy in FL Panhandle

Hello fellow enthusiasts. Lurking & learning here.

I live 6 hours from the SS but chose to mail order. Placed my order in the mail on a Monday, got my replies by email on Wednesday saying the Garand had shipped. Friday it was there when I got home. The case was missing two of the rods which hold it together but the cardboard box had prevented any damage, thank heavens! There was no clip with it so I called the CMP and it arrived the next day.

The Garand is spectacular. A Springfield, serial number 1,192,XXX, manufactured in January 1943, and yes the barrel is correct! Wow - Stalingrad, meat rationing, Nikola Tesla passed, Guadalcanal, etc., and the thing looks like it was made yesterday. The new CMP stock probably adds to this effect but still, she is truly flawless with a ME of 3, a TE of 2 and not a blemish of any kind on any surface. Thanks CMP!!!!!!!

South part of SR but hoping to move up to your town, we are actually talking to a realtor right now about some properties there. Looking at your bio makes me wonder if we were separated at birth lol. I'm prior LEO (mil and county) and an NRA instructor. When I am not shooting I am fishing.

Thanks for the welcome.

Nice to have another Panhandle person here. Welcome aboard. Save up for another Garand. If the 308''s are still available get one of those. Great rifle.

Wait, isn't Mobile still part of West Florida?

Welcome OP from the bottom of the mainland.

In my head, being a Florida resident, I say no because that would start mixing those that are civilized with those that are not, and Mobile certainly is not.
