Here's my pawn shop rescue that had been polished and blued by a former owner. Just got it back from Shuff's who refinished it in manganese park. The pistol has a type 2 Union Switch & Signal slide, 1943 Ithaca frame, High Standard barrel, and Keyes grips. As far as I can tell, nearly all remaining parts are Ithaca.

Here is my CMP 1911. Colt frame & Remington Rand slide. The stamps seem to be modest, so I wonder if it was sand blasted. The grips would not loosen so the screws are brewing in Kroil. If you have any info, plese share.

My Field Grade arrived today. A 1911A1 Colt made in 1944 with a Colt slide, rearsenaled in 7/78 at ANAD.

FJA marked, very very light cannon cartouche which may not show up in photos, Colt Government model slide, barrel has another serial and B5 or 85 on it but given rearsenal date I doubt that's production. I have no idea about the rest of it.

Totally stoked and glad I went through with it.

Default RR/Ithaca

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe I have a RR from 1943 with an Ithaca slide. I really do not know much else about it. I found it interesting that it arrived to me with a dirty barrel and oiled rails. https://imgur.com/gallery/uNwCCC8?s

Here is my CMP Service grade that arrived today. RNG was 6643. It is a Remington Rand frame with a Colt Government Model commercial slide. The barrel is generic GI. I think the serial number puts it late 1944. Even though it was obviously rebuilt at some point I can find no rebuild marks.

Picked up my CMP delivery yesterday. RR frame and Ithaca slide. Appears to have been packed away to storage right after rebuild. No rebuild markings, but finish has been bead blasted and Parkerized to a very smooth, even finish. Not a speck of dust on the handle screws and all edges are quite sharp (with the exception of some markings on the frame). Also quite surprising is no idiot scratch on a 70 year old 1911. I wonder what the "2" is just in front of the slide release. Thanks, CMP.
