Default 1911 return

It is amazing what some people expect when buying the fully functional relics carried by our men and women to liberate people around the world. That is why I am drawn to them. I guess that is not in some peoples dollars and cents mindset, even when they are priced at reasonable market price. Five years ago a 1911 would not have been imagined from CMP.

Agree. I can buy any 1911 I would want ( ok no singer) but can hardly wait until my chance at a CMP gun. Hopefully sometime in the next allocation if it comes through!

First, If my buddy didn't like his, and wanted to send it back, it would have been sold to me with the 10% he requested.

Second, the CMP cannot go after the FFL, they can only ban their customer from future CMP Purchases as their warning says. The FFL is a neutral party that cannot be touched. As for GB, another sold on there this week. GB didn't stop them from selling it, so I am gonna say you were fed a line of bull, based on misinformation.

Third, I would guess if your friend is that picky, he probably doesn't buy much from the CMP anyhow, so he could have sold it on GB for 2K and doubled his money. You don't have to have a FFL to sell a firearm.

Good on him for taking the option to return so that another CMP Customer can get their hands on one of these pieces..

It is clearly stated on the Update page that if you aren't satisfied with your purchase, your only option is to return the gun and they will issue a refund. That's how I understand it.

Here is the excerpt from the Update Page: We will not trade slides or receivers, what you get is what you get. If you are not happy your only option is to return the pistol and we will refund your money.

I believe it means your only option through them is to send it back. Nowhere do I see it stated that you can't resell for profit if you wish to do so.

That is right he could have just sold the .45 to you if he did not want it...
