Default Any reports? I might go Saturday.

Hello,

I am on my way from Las Vegas to Pensacola and am taking a break at my folks house in Phoenix. I just opened up my first CMP purchase (an HRA SGS w/LMR barrel), and am thinking about stopping by the SS but don't want to drive the extra 5 hours if its going to be a bust (the weather seems favor rain and I'll be lucky to get in w/in an hour of closing on Saturday).

So any reports from this week, or general advice before I get to El Paso tomorrow (that's kind of the point of no return, I either have to detour there or carry on to San Antonio).

Thanks for your help, and I'll be posting pics on Sunday (have to set up a hosting service still).

G'night.

If you're coming from Vegas why not gamble one more time?

I was there yesterday. No FG or SG. HRA SGS, Kimbers, M1C's, M1D's, 03 and Garand drill rifles, barreled receivers, AP ammo. Same as the last several months. It's ALWAYS worth stopping in if you get close, just to breath the air. I managed to find a pair of consecutive serial numbered Kimbers, an HRA SGS and a chromed 03 barreled receiver for my 1941 project. Also some AP ammo.

LOL. I've been to Vegas nine times, but I've yet to gamble there. It's just not my thing.

Now my food bill. Well, that's another story.

Also: thank you for the heads up, I have a lot to think about the next three hours. The mrs doesnt know about the SGS. It's hiding in a daisy box. She thinks I got two of those. Already short on space in the car, But how often do you get a chance at ap ammo.

I'd take the chance and set course for Anniston. If you decide not to do that, take the Anderson Loop around San Antonio. The drive thru San Antonio is a bear since the freeway through the city resembles Chef Boyardi noodles dumped from a can.

In the end I caved to road fatigue (pretty much would only get 4 hours of sleep (and I have been up since Thursday AM)), lack of military lodging in route to Anniston (I don't have to empty the cab if I park on base and the odds against me finding anything 30 min before closing on a Saturday given the slim picking on a weds am.

But I'll be doing two more x-con trips soon, lets hope the crates will be in my favor then.
