Default New Guy from People's Republic of Kalifornia

Dad used the Garand when he was in the army. He loved the rifle then and now. Since I was little he always said how he could have purchased his issue rifle for $75.00 when he was discharged and wished he had. Then $75.00 might as well have been a million to him. I bought dad a Garand a few years back for Christmas and liked it so much I had a hard time giving it away. I've been hooked ever since.

New to the CMP forum page, but have been a member of the GCA for 2 years. I have 4 M-1s. Not sure if that qualifies me as a collector

Welcome to The CMP Forum. Pretty interesting that you could get your rifle that was issued to you, I wish that price was still for today! From another newbie west coast member welcome to the forum

Here's another nut from Caleefornia.. I have two Garands, one for shooting and one re-arsenaled for investment. Looking to get into some entry level competition and re-lading recipies. Have reloaded a lot over the years but if one can believe what I read re-loading for the Garand can be a touchy issue. looking to harvest all the info I can.
