My vote is for "work on processing orders/inspect the pistols", but thank you for creating this sub-forum for all of us!

I just happened to think on Tuesday, "Hey, wasn't there something about 1911 orders and September?" So, I logged onto CMP for the first time in months, and lo and behold, it was time to order! Fortunately, all of my stuff was current, so I dropped my order in the mail yesterday!

Checking my statistics, this is my first post since January of '16, and it's great to be back! Got the Garand I wanted a few years ago (November '44 SN), so now it's time to cross my fingers and hope for a 1911 before 2025!

Good luck, everyone!

A buddy got me started in shooting DCM, M-1 Garand matches after I got out of the Army in 1985. My first M-1, was a former DCM, Winchester, I bought for about $400. I shot several registered matches, and then applied to the DCM for my very own DCM Garand, you could only get one per person back then... I'll never forget when the notice came in the mail to pick it up at the Post Office... Unbelievably, it was all WWII Springfield, including the 1944 barrel, and the correct stock, with the cartouches... I think the only part that wasn't WWII, was the 'National Match' op-rod... Yes, of course, I still have it til this day... I since regretfully had traded the Winchester away, but this past summer, I was traveling near the CMP North store, and stopped in and bought another Winchester... Because yes, this is America, and yes, you can still do that...!!!

Seems so, as much as anywhere. You've got a lot of reading to catch up on.

The important posts to read are those by cmp1911admin or known by the rest of us as Pete
