Default Colt Black Army replica

I thought there was a thread on this but searched and couldnt find it.
Does anyone know if they're still available new or have all sold out everywhere?

Any does anyone know what the production numbers are?

Both versions of the Colt WW1 reproductions have been sold out as new stock for many years. IIRC there were approx. 4K units produced for each version.

OK, I thought you were asking about the original series of WW1 reproductions but I see they have a new version out. No idea about those.

I bought one when they first showed up. Rumour control stated these (0911M) were assembled from parts left over from the first reproductions several years ago. I have read total of 750 were produced in a couple different places. No confirmation from Colt as far as I know. Still see them on Gunbroker sometimes asking a little over original $999 price. A curious thing about these is there is no Colt Pony on the slide anywhere. Even tho the slide is roll marked with all the other date stamps.

The earliest 1911s didnt have the pony.
I assume they were trying to make a reproduction as close as they could to the first ones.

All Colts from the start of military production had the pony.
