Default WTK: Who is match prepping Garands these days?

I know the custom shop is accuruzing Garands these days. Any other gunsmiths that can be recommended to do a re barrel and tuning of a JCG Garand?
After 15 years of matches my purpose built Garand is tired and misbehaving.

Derrick Martin at Accuracy Speaks in Mesa, Arizona (located on the Rio Salado reservation on Usery Pass Road) still works them up.

There are lots of others around the country, too.

Looks as if you're in Ohio. There must be plenty of folks there, too.

I did not know Phil was still working. One of the good local guys here just quit. I don't know what happened but something about ATF gunsmith licensing sort of closed up a few of the guys that did it out love.

Default Look in the Classified section of the Garand Collectors' Journal

the latest issue has ads from seven different businesses who offer these services

There are not very many that want to mess with Garands or M1As in the Northeast Ohio area. I took the plunge and am doing my own work. Do a bunch of research, get the tools over time and go at it!

Try Shuff's Parkerizing. He's in SE Michigan.

His rep was made building the 16" Mini-Gs, but he's talented and knows the accuracy issues affecting an M1, which includes the "Match Prep" drill as well.

Check out his website:
