Default Best ways to get more accuracy from a replica 03A4

I'm picking up an 03A4 replica built by James River Armory in the next week or so. I'm thinking of competing in vintage sniper at Camp Perry next year. I'd like to do it this year, but it's not realistic for me. I've been looking at the reproduction scopes vs Lyman Alaskan, Weaver K2.5, Weaver 330. Considering the old Redfield base and rings for a more authentic look. I'm also looking at a milled trigger guard and floor plate, milled handguard band. I've heard the milled pieces are better. I've also read that I can not glass bed the action or anything else for that matter. Can someone point me in a direction to go? I had a Creedmoor 03A4 for a hot minute a few years back, but had to sell it. I'm very new to these rifles. Thank you

You really just need to have your trigger smoothed out and you stock fit properly... My faux-a4 was built for me and holds 1 MOA consistently.

Does the milled floor plate and trigger guard help? Or are they more for looks?

The 1903 TG was used to reduce the need to disassemble the rifle....probably not much of an accuracy factor and not worth changing, IMO. The 1903A3 trigger guard with the "pad" behind the front screw is supposed to be best. Stock fit, trigger, scope choice, barrel quality and ammo are key to accuracy. The Weaver 2.5X is a good choice, but reliability and good tracking are most important and most of the approved scopes are adequate. A good A3/A4 with decent ammo should shoot 1 MOA. The rest is up to the shooter. Good Shooting. .

Thanks. Where can I find a pic of the trigger guard you speak of?

Look at pic #6 in the eBay auction for the "pad"

Would the James River Armory replica 03A4 have that?

Not sure but doubt it. You don't see these every day but not rare either.

Is the Weaver 2.5x a good scope for vintage sniper matches? Does it track well, decent glass?...or should it look into a Lyman Alaskan, or reproduction M84? Thanks

The Weaver's solid... The HiLux/Malcolm will have better glass and be better sealed, but for all practical purposes in vintage matches the Weaver will be enough. That said, at 600yds all 2.5x scopes will show their limitations and be easily beat out by anyone shooting a 1903a1 with a USMC 10x scope.

All that aside, I have a HiLux/Malcolm M82G2 and am very pleased with it. But I went that route because I wanted as historically accurate a reproduction as I could get.
