flip the ladder up, roll the crossbar all the way down to the bottom and then slide it up to the first or second graduated mark. I believe its the 2nd one that is on the money for 50 yards when looking through the peep hole. I don't have mine near me to confirm but I'm pretty sure that's the one I use on my various 03s.

The only way to "zero" the rifle is to shoot it. It is over 100 yeas old and there is no reason to believe the sights correlate to POI. I square up the front sight with a file, blacken it and start at 25yards with an open mind. BTW.... try the notch above the small aperture. Many shooters prefer it. Good Shooting. ...

That's what I use and prefer.

I sighted in at 25 and then did a slow fire at 50 yards from the bench. She was drilling clays on the berm at 140+- afterwards. I'm very happy although a sore shoulder lol. Here's the 50 yard target.

I man enough to admit that I use a slip on pachmayr recoil pad.

You shoot way tighter groups than I do.

Thanks. It was from a bench though. Next time I'll sling up and I suspect the results will be a little different.
