Smile 30-40 Krag Stripper Clip

http://s628.photobucket.com/user/Ohi...70535.jpg.html
Here are some pictures of the stripper clips that I made for use in the match this year. The design came from a photo.

Loaded old photo into auto cad and then scaled it to the max length of a cartridge. Drew over the lines in the photo and made some adjustments for the rim. It was a fun project and worked good.

I've seen a couple stripper clips that have been made over the years. It makes you wonder why the government couldn't have came up with a clip system that was simpler than the Parkhurst Device -with the exception of the government considering the Mauser to be a better design than the Krag. Nice work!

Looks like a huge improvement over a "cardboard Swiss K31" stripper.

There's a gent on the Krag Collectors forum who makes them as well to a Danish design. I've got a pair of them and they work like a dream. I'm planning to use them in the matches as well later this month to help speed up loading.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the point of a Krag stripper clip? I thought the rounds were meant to be dumped into the magazine and the follower would do the work of lining up the rounds? Also, I am not having luck getting the photo to work but I did a quick google search to get an idea of what it was.

Looks nice.

I've found 80 seconds to be more than adequate to "dump and shoot" though. That's not to say if you were selling them on the Assembly Line that I wouldn't be interested though. The spring loaded ones in Europe are super fast.

Some of us are fumble fingered when under the clock. Paul Steinmayer's version of Parashooter's Krag Charger is slicker than owl crap and makes the reload in a rapids a four second event instead of ten or so.

Come on over and hang out at the Krag Collectors Association when you get a chance. Everyone is welcome.

Interesting. I have a M1898 Krag. Unfortunately I've only shot it once and put ten rounds through it before the range was shut down due to weather. It has the smoothest bolt out of any rifle I own.
