Default 2020 Rules: Is this an acceptable Match Pistol grip?

For NRA rules, there's a height limit to the shelf upsweep.
For ISSF rules, the shelf must extend 90 degrees from the side of the frame.

Compare the standard shelf and upswept bullseye shelf here: https://www.formgriffe.de/en/shpSR.p...&p1=400&p2=255

In the 2020 CMP rules, the only limit is: "Grips may not encircle the hand. [4.1.6 b)]"

Quote:
en·cir·cle | \ in-ˈsər-kəl , en-\
encircled; encircling; encircles
Definition of encircle
transitive verb

1: to form a circle around : SURROUND
2: to pass completely around
So, would a free pistol style grip be legal?

I would send the question to the Competitions people. Christina will probably forward it to the Rules Committee, like she did my question about the Model 10, since these are just draft rules right now. Hopefully they will clarify our questions before casting them in concrete.

Would be nice if they were pro-active about it and followed the forums...

Well, that's worrying. Every question to and decision from a rules committee should be published publicly.
