Default TMP visit - January 2nd

I'm planning on making a trip to the TMP this Saturday since the website hours say they will be open. I will call to confirm first but it does appear to be the case. I have been to the South Store a number of times but this will be my first visit there.

Can anybody share their experiences? I'm told they generally have a good selection of Field and Service Grades. Do they keep it stocked or is it hit or miss? Do they also have slings like the South Store? I'm hoping to get several WWII rifles to bring home.

Thanks in advance.

They will be closed December 31-January 1, so you’re good for Saturday. They haven’t been restocked for about three weeks so rifles have been hit pretty hard. Maybe you will be luck and they may restock at any time now. Good luck.

I went after work yesterday to buy some ammunition..
There was 3 Krags left.
Field grade 1903A3 all were Remington.
Winchester M1 Garand service and field grades
Some Springfield Armory M1 not sure of grade
Special grades field and service grade maybe some rack special.

Lots of International Harvester GAP Letters. Service and field grades on those. Postage stamp International Harvester service grade

M1C field and service available..

Maybe 1 6 million SA.

There is a limit of only 200 rounds per day of ammunition.. no longer per caliber..and of course 2000 limit yearly.. no 9mm, 243 270 or 30-30..
Plenty of 308 and 30-06..

Thank you for the quick responses, fellas.

Did the Springfield Armory rifles appear to be worth a visit? I'm primarily interested in Field and Service Grades rather than Specials.

What are they selling Krag's for these days? Condition decent?

Condition wise, Finish is worn on the metal but decent for 120 years old. I seen some rusting (slight) conditions. I didn't take notes on which one was better than other.. definitely look down the barrels..

The few Field and Service Grade rifles appeared to be Philippine returns and, if I'm being honest, were pretty much junk. Pitted, stained, mismatched, baseball bat looking stocks, etc. I imagine they have been sitting there for a while.

The 1917s and 03A3s were all very nice and I took home a 1-18 Eddystone.
