Default Scant Stock Q.

I've been collecting parts for a 1903A4 clone build. Do have most of what I'll need. Recently I acquired a scant stock that is suppose to be a NOS replacement scant stock. It bares no manufacturer's stamp though. It does have reinforcement bolts and excussion. In the butt there are 2 holes for cleaning equipment like an M1 with the top hole lining up with the 1903A3/4 butt plate. Any chance this might be NOS USGI?

Based on your description, the stock is indeed NOS USGI. Many scant stocks exhibit no maker's marks. The bottom hole in the butt is a lightening hole to reduce weight.

Thank you for the information. Now to hit a few shows in search of a hand guard that will be a close match.

Next will be the scope mount rings and deciding on a scope. Then assembly, Woo Hoo!

Keystone placed a K in the cutoff and some times it looks like and X.

As far as I know nobody has ever made a reproduction scant stock so any "scant" you come across will be GI surplus.
