Thank you ! My problem is solved. I shot the M14 again today and I leaned my head into the rifle a little more and bingo, no more shooting 4 inches high. Being so used to the Garands, the M14 ergonomics always seemed a little awkward to me. Apparently when shooting the M14 I would always keep my head back a little too much. Never even realized I was doing that. Is the M14 butt stock longer than that of the Garand perhaps ? I do feel a little stupid, nor does it make any sense, but glad I solved it. Thanks again
That's great Phillies, well done !...We shoot around here almost every day because of having to test rifles and sight them in. You can't help but learn a thing or three when doing that much shooting.
How I learned to teach this method was in teaching my Grandsons to use the M14 sights. They took one look at them and said, " Wow, these are just like the video game sights."....That's when I knew I was really old...
Every single person I have taught this method to, has improved their match scores and started hitting the ten and X ring. Proud for you bud! Nothing worse than a rifle that won't hit what you aim.
