Default 1911 Front Sight Height

After competing last year with a stock Kimber plus an oversize EGW barrel bushing I decided this winter to build a pistol for EIC matches. Working on the last few pieces before blueing and I am trying to figure out which front sight height to start with. Any recommendations? Thinking .200, but I just want some ideas. Rear cut is Bomar style on Caspian slide.

I would also check on the Bullseye Forum there are some great gunsmiths on there that can help you if you don't get an answer quickly.

I have a Bo-Mar rear sight on my EIC 1911A1. The front sight is .25 high. The Bo-Mar type rear sight is still available from other manufacturers.

That is exactly where I went! I can't believe the variety of heights/widths they have.

Interesting. The front sight on my hardball gun is exactly correct at .25 inches.
