The only thing that is as nice as your rifle is the 1903 NRA Sporter that was built on the same stock. What an amazing Christmas gift!

haven't heard any actual numbers but have been told the majority of the model of 1922's were upgraded to M1 AND m2'S..and not many remain in their original state

Personally I'd rather have the M2. I broke down and bought one last year and as I understand it the M2 is the only variant in which the bolt was short stroked for the .22. My M2 is not the NRA variant.

bolt and mag are different...bolt had a dual firing pin for one thing...and if you think the M2 mags are pricey...find a 1922 mag...have both the 1922 and the M2 rifles...quality pieces for sure..but neither improved my shooting sadly...

Very nice rifle! I also have one unmodified. I shoot in in silouette competiton occasionally and it always draws a crowd.
