Default Scope Mount for Mossberg Mod 44US

Anyone making a scope mount that uses the rear sight screw holes on a Mossberg 44US?

Rob

Thanks but I am not sure that mount will work without some modification. My receivers are not drilled and tapped for that mount but rather all I would have are the two tapped holes currently used by the rear sight.
Really would rather not have to drill and tap my receiver.

Any place else?

thanks,
Rob

I remember someone either making such a mount - either that or adapting ( drilling one extra hole in an existing mount). This is gonna take some thinking as I'm distracted today. Someone oughta have better recall than me. The Havlin mount is dandy, but only if you have one of the "A" model 44's.

The mount sold by Havlin uses the two factory side mount holes. The mount arches over the top of the receiver. Check it out more closely and examine the pics. This is the $28.50 cost mount. The pics in the Havlin Sales site depict this mount on a 44US. I have one and it is well made.

My buddy has a 44US. It does not have the scope mount holes but rather does have the two screw holes for the rear sight.
Is yours the same?

AFAIK, no one makes one, but some individuals have home-brewed mounts. The Havlins mount can easily be glued to the receiver - lots of contact area.

Sorry the penny finally dropped. I was thinking of the 44US (a) which does have the side mount holes. My 44US contract does not. Have not seen a mount intended to attach to the S-100 mounting holes. As edlmann states, one could glue the Havlin mount in place, loctite black or similar. I have no experience with this approach but have seen anecdotal evidence of success on various forums.

luvmygarand asked this in "our" forum back in 11/19/2009. I can't figure out how to link to it. I saved it on my computer and that doesn't provide a link to the original - I think.
Best ( my opinion) response was the one from ss123. Edelman: you had a response in that one, btw. I'll PM my copy of the stuff.
