Default Mold Releases

Hello All!

I'm getting into the glass bedding phase of my match rifle build. I'm using Marinetex as my bedding material. I'm aware of Lilly Ram 225 and Stoner release agents. Has anyone used Pam with Marinetex with any success?

Thanks,
Josh

I use "mold release agent" that comes in a spray can for releasing from steel high pressure molds. I believe that it is Teflon based as it is dry after being sprayed on. my choice for marinetex bedding compound.

I don't care for sprays and have always felt they were too thick. I like paste floor wax or neutral shoe polish.

I decided on the Lilly Ram 225 mold release. Will be glass bedding my rifle as soon as the Lilly Ram arrives (shipped from a company in Kansas).

While I worked at a major airline we used Frekote made by Loktite. The airline made composite parts and repairs for 727 thur 777's and other commercial heavy airliners. This is the same product that was used and I use with Acruglass and Devcon Steel for bedding rifles.

frekote is the spray release agent we used at Hamilton standard when using high heat/ pressure molds for epoxying and foaming propeller blades for the c130. great stuff. nothing sticks to it.
thanks for refreshing my memory, don.

Just an update. The Lilly Ram 225 mold release worked really well to release from the Marine Tex epoxy. Bedding a rifle is nerve racking experience and I can't wait to do it again! The M1A I completed is a Bula Forge rear lugged receiver wih a Bula Forge NM medium weight barrel. Most are Bula parts 5 parts are Fulton Armory. Total cost for a match prepped rifle was about 2200 and my time.
