Default What type of matches do you shoot your M1 Garand?

Totally curious. How do you utilize your M1Garand? Camp Perry? Talladega TMP matches? Highpower? Service Rifle? As issued? Modified? Some other category?

(So far - I shoot my match rifle at a local club in the JCG As issued matches. I would like to expand using this rifle in a reduced HighPower match. Which are just for fun and tune up your marksmanship skills.)

Thanks Gents!

Fred

I shoot my M1 in monthly local CMP GSM matches and have also shot it in NRA full XTC and Mid Range (prone 600 yrd) matches. I've shot M1's in local LEO and Wounded Warrior fundraiser matches prone at 100 & 300 yards, and I'll shoot it in any match I can, because it's my favorite rifle to shoot!

CMP Games Matches (A & B format) and a few NRA/CMP XTC matches. The M1 usually stays home in favor of the more accurate M14 or AR.

I've also shot a couple high-power silhouette (standing) matches for fun and misery.

Local JCG monthly match plus a local 3 gun club has a Garand division (with 1911 and period correct shotgun). There is a 5k run-n-gun next month. The youngers will run with carbon fiber ARs and skeletonized Glocks. I'm going to road march with my M1D and a S&W 1917. (Cranky old man division)

That would be fun to rock a M1 with the 3 gun crowd.

I'm so eager to get my M1 out to a XTC match.
I'm shooting 460s at 200 yard JCG matches and shooting my AR 170s @ 600 yards so I think I will do ok.

Local club Garand matches, 100 yds, reduced targets.

Camp Butner, Eastern CMP Games, GSM Match, 200 yds.

Camp Perry,November 2016, rifle pop up combat course, man sized silloetts from 50M, out to 300M! It was FUN but score was ugly!
