Default Wideners Sales

Wow! Has wideners been running some good deals on reloading supplies. It seems like they are getting out of the powder and primer business all together.

If you buy their very reasonably priced CCI small pistol primers @ $109 per 5k you can get a $10 rebate and t-shirt from the corporate parent Vista Outdoors (see link).

http://www.savagearms.com/downloads/...Coupon_web.pdf

After paying hazmat and shipping it came out to $153.58. Less the rebate 143.58 after the rebate ($28.72 per 1000 waaaayyy better than what I can buy them at a store or gun show). Just wanted to share.

I'm actually surprised they have decent prices.
Maybe lucky gunner is not doing as well as they thought trying to run 2 different web sites.
So sad when I heard Stan Widener was selling out.
Wideners was one of the few internet companies to take the time to listen to reason on the laws Nd regulations for shipping to my state vs the blanket no ship to you BS from the new wideners.
Classic arms is another that went down the tubes.

They do have good specials from time to time that make their high shipping prices since they were sold worth it.

Their shipping has become ridiculous. It was great when they used flat rate shipping boxes and sent thousands of projectiles at a very fair price.

A friend of mine bought 6 8lbs kegs of TAC for $139 each a week ago. He just couldn't pass that deal up.

Every now and then a decent sale but as noted shipping has gone through the roof. Before Stan sold out they had very competitive prices on all stock and had much more. I use to buy quite a bit. They also had a lot of surplus items etc. Now as mentioned it just an extension of Lucky Gunner and another internet drop shipping company...

They have great sales but horrible shipping prices. I recently tried to buy 500 223 bullets, that would easily fit in a USPS small flat rate box ($7.15), and they wanted to charge me $15.00 for shipping. Thanks, but no thanks.

They had a great price on 500ea 168/308s and the shipping squashed that deal...$17 for ground shipping. No thank you.

Default Wideners is no longer selling powder or primers

Found several links the other night indicating Wideners is no longer selling powder or primers. They indicated it was due to new regulations for storage and shipping that would force them to increase prices. Sure do miss the old Wideners and wish Stan would have kept the business. Below is the link to the source of the information. The email snip-it is at the bottom of the first page. Found another link with a different email but can't seem to locate it now. But the one from ar15.com also confirms.

Yup, the shipping is high but, I think it's a matter of them using UPS which has very high minimum rates. I once was told (by them) they would ship USPS Priority Flat Rate rather than UPS if you called in with your order. They did that once for me but they won't do it with very large quantities of heavy bullets. When they did ship it to me that way they neglected to pack the bullets very well and they almost exited the FR box on one corner. Even so, 500 30 cal bullets won't fit in a small FR box and a medium is now about $16. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
