Default What the heck is 44-45 EXP?

I came across a die marked this way..It was in with some .444 dies..

I suspect it's an alternate expander die. I'd disassemble and measure it. The 444 is essentially a lengthened 44 mag so requires 3 dies to load.

Thanks Dollar..Guess I should have mentioned that it is a sizing die..Web search reveals nothing

Sounds like a call to the die manufacturer (RCBS?) is in order. Interesting question for sure.

Just spoke w RCBS..The expander die and de-capping pin are combined in the 44-45 EXP (expansion) die..hence EXP..DUH..Made them that way prior to 1981..Question answered
