I remember this show when it was broadcast on TV. Before color was invented.

Years later, while I was at the Pentagon, I was allowed to see part of the lower left corner of the big picture. I asked to meet "they," as in "you know what they say," but was turned down. If you were not in the military you do not know what this means.

When I was in junior high, we were regularly herded into the combination cafeteria/auditorium to see these. We sat at long lunch tables facing the stage which had a pull down movie screen.

One day, somebody obviously screwed up the zoom when they set up the projector. When the lights went down and the film started, "The Big Picture" logo was postage stamp size on an 8 foot screen.

For some reason, this contrast was outrageously funny to 300 young teens. Order was not restored for at least a couple of minutes.

The USAF version comes in three parts. I wanted to:
1. Find out who "they" are;
2. See the big picture; and
3. Meet the regular crew chief.

Default The Real Crew Chief

I recall a retirement party in the late 1970s at Charleston AFB for a Senior Master Sergeant...held in the Jet Engine Shop...

A young lady showed up dressed in fatigues and asked where he was. When directed to him, she informed him that she was a stripper..."they" had sent her...she was the "real crew chief", and she was going to show him "the big picture"!!!!

What a party

As Archie would say...those were the days.....................
