Here is a where to grease your Garand.

Just about any good automotive grease will do.

Due to our weather extremes in AK I prefer Mobil Syn 1.

I see I will be able to pick up a Bayonet for my future Garand while I am there. But do they carry the correct cleaning kits for the butt stock? Thanks

If you were born in Alabama, you can get your birth certificate from your local health department in minutes.

And if I were you, I'd take 431 through Gadsden to Anniston. I take a similar route, except I pick up 431 in Gadsden.

The store does not have any M1 carbines, but they do have M1903s at present.

Thanks, I am east of Huntsville so 431 is my best route, shouldn’t be too long of a drive.

This is the route I take. Its an easy drive now that the Gadsden road work is fixed.

Good luck tomorrow.
I doubt there will be any carbines there, but plenty of garands.
I'm also from Huntsville (Ryland Pike) and suggest the 431 route through Guntersville/Gadsden/rainbow city much better drive than staring at 4 lane all day.

If you want to shoot it with some local (HSV) milsurp folks, let me know by PM. I often go to skyline or Big Springs. I don't currently have a garand, but will head down to dega to get another one sometime this summer.

Thanks, yea I am in the Mayesville area so we are practically neighbors. I am hoping for a Garand and 1903 now that I have seen Tom’s reports. Google is saying about a 2hr Drive . I figure we will make a little better time if it’s not pouring down rain.
