Ordered 20 butt plates from him recently. Advertised pics of clean buttplates with 50-75% checkering. Received 20 smooth, rusted plates. He said he was out of the loose plates but gave me a deal on plates that included the stocks. All 20 stocks were firewood. 9 of them were cracked in half.

I once (years ago) bought an op rod from him that was advertised as being in spec. What I received had NO piston- it had been cut off!! It was clearly saw-cut and recently. He did end up putting a new piston on it.

Another time I bought an early bullet guide. The guide I received had been heavily peened (hammered) at the camming surface so it would be in spec. His response was that this was a common practice.

I have bought a couple other things from him that were OK.

I'm a little surprised to hear this. I have had several transactions with Tony over the years. He once finished reamed a 308 barrel I put on a receiver for me as a project I wanted to build with my son. I only had a 30-06 reamer.
I once bought 3 of his take-off barrels that he advertised here. One had a very worn muzzle. I emailed him since he said tight muzzles. He sent me a check for a refund for the cost of 1 barrel. He told me he had a local kid doing the take- off barrel measurements. I believed him. He made it right.

I’m glad it worked out for you. I’ve had 3 deals with Tony. He failed to deliver on his end all three times. Having spoken to others in the business, this is not unusual

I am sad to say that Tony seems to be sending out bad stuff these days. I have had favorable transactions in the past and the last one took a while to complete but the barrel I purchased as an Excellent CMP barrel was pretty bad. I have sent 2 emails with no response so tread lightly.

I had a few good deals a couple years ago, then it seems to be going downhill in the past year.
