Default IN B Carbine Rear Flip Sight

Traded for this really nice Quality Hardware carbine and it had this sight installed. Everything else on the rifle is period correct, a good mixture of rebuild parts from Inland, etc, the sight looks out of place. The color is much darker than the gun. Just doesn't look quite right or if it's real it just doesn't look right on the gun. It's been smacked on with a punch a little.

Default Probably - Not

I am no expert, but it looks like a reproduction to me. Especially if the color / patina doesn't match the rest of the carbine.

According to Ruth, QHMC did not integrate any flip sights from IBM (IN-B) during the war. Not that SOME QHMC carbines might not have an IN-B flip sight swapped during a wartime rebuild, but it's not likely.

On the other hand - GREAT PICTURES! I wish I could get mine so well done. Thanks.
