Default Rear lugged M1A

So I am new to the M1A, have a Garand and a carbine, I am looking at an M1A that has had a rear lug added to it to make it a NM or super match. My question is, is it common to see the welds of the lugs above the wood on the receiver? I have looked and found a few pics online that look similar to the gun Iím looking at. Just wondering if this was common or should I steer clear of it. Has mostly GI and NM parts on the gun, including an oversized stock.

Hit the google for pictures. If yours does not look like those that is a start.
The quality of the weld is key.

Welds can be visible when the lugs are added after the gun left the factory. It's kind of sloppy work, but most of the Marine Corps rifles were that way.

I passed on it, not really what I was looking for but went cheap( under $1000). Well cheap for an M1A anyway. Still deciding on if I want an M1A right now, have a few other model of guns Iíve been looking at also. Really want a P08 Luger
