I got two Remingtons and a Smith Carona 1943 dated barrels and 1944, The Smith Carona was a piece of cake to convert they did not weld over the bolt body firing pin hole but the striker was ground off, also the cut off was only welded on one side and it was cracked clean thru so I could operate the cut off almost completely up and down stocks were nicely cartouched one with a Ordinance wheel,FJA,RA,OG in a box on one rifle Non Serrif circle P also 4 small stampson the bottom of the stock just forward of the action screw, also inside the stock under the barrel in the middle was a large W stamped or a M,Anyone have a clue about what that is there for?

One of the other stocks has the OG boxed and HSAA in a box, also has a Small Non-Serif P just behind the grip with a straight line above and below the P,I have not seen that before but have not been collecting the 03,s all that much till lately anyone else get marks like that or know what they mean?

The other stock just has the OG boxed and P, The Remington 03-A3,s are Serial Number 3821488 with a RA 6-43 Flaming Bomb barrel, Rem 3370546 with a RA 1-43 Flaming Bomb with a punch mark in the Bomb body, The Smith Corona Ser 3682898 had a Beautiful barrel on it gageing a 1.5 MW bearly a weld hole thru to the rod in the chamber, SC Barrel 5-43 with Flaming Bomb.

I also noticed the Bolt handle was marked Rem8620 on top which I think is a Wartime replacement, also one of the Handles is a straight handled bolt rather than a swept back handle is that an earlier bolt?

Welds on the barrels were a piece of cake to cut, also the cutoffs two small welds on each side of two cutoffs and the other one side and it was broken, Pretty easy restorations I hope they run another batch of $100.00 Rifles.

Thank You, It's such a nice feeling to bring back into service a Nice piece of history, I just got in today an original new old stock still in the wrap and grease 8-44 RA barrel to go on one of the RA,s .Looking forward to seeing how that one does on the range.

Got mine a nice SC, barrel gauges at .5 and six grooves what a shame. Handgaurd has a easy to fix crack, the stock is going to take more work but is fixable. Cutoff is on the heavier side for weld, barrel weld was small. All in all a nice rifle.
