Not mine (didn't try for one) but with his permission, here is the 1911A1 received by member Circlehook. The Colt frame originally shipped to Springfield between 11/25/42 and 1/6/43 so probably a 12/42 gun (Colt slide is a little later) that was eventually rebuilt at Anniston in 12/82. It's also one of the first GHD-marked examples (they started around 847,000). Really nice example.

Here’s my Remington Rand, shipped June 1945.
RR slide and frame. Colt msh and slide stop. Also recoil plug may be colt. I have some homework to do.

Hi All,

Did the paperwork on this Ithaca Frame/US&S Slide last night at the FFL. More pics to follow once I get it home, but I'm wondering if the markings in attached pic indicate that this frame was twice sent to an armory for refresh (once to SA and once to ANAD)? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm gonna be a loooong time getting the call, at RGN 18,601.... so I'll have to be patient waiting for a playmate to my "garage-sale find"....

According to a source on another board, this was delivered to the Springfield Armory June 28 of 1941 (thanks to thebearpack for delivery date info). It still had the original Harpham Bros holster.

Bought this from a guy who refinished furniture, and had found it in a hidden compartment in an old wooden desk. He had no interest in guns, and I found out he had bought the desk from the daughter of the original owner, a doctor who served in WWII.

My wife and I picked up her 1911A1 today. Awesome! Colt frame and slide. Two rebuilds, LEAD and RIA. Icing on the cake is the certificate is dated 6/6/2019, 75th Anniversary of D-Day! Hope I make the cut (RNG 7612)!

My father-in-law's, RNG around 5800, phone call Tuesday, picked up Wednesday, left for Canada fishing trip Thursday. Luck SOB. Ithaca frame/Colt replacement slide, shipped 4/10/44 to Rock Island (thanks to thebearpack for info). A couple of scratches, but otherwise very clean. Have not field stripped yet (see reference: Canada fishing trip!).
