I got a 1911 with a tag that looks like the museum guns. I have been out of town so have not had a chance to break it down, but it is a AA rebuild with a HS replacement barrel and a replacement slide catch. Sent to Bush Terminal Brooklyn to AEF per Bear pack.

Fresh scratch from CMP handling I assume; not a big deal to me.

Default Ithaca 1911 came today!

Edit: Of course, it’s an a1. I forgot to add that in my excitement.

Just got it in today. RGN 6312.
All 3 grades offered, Service Grade chosen.
Looks great.

Tag says Ithaca/Ithaca.
Barrel has S&W stamp.

I’m very pleased! Thanks CMP!

Here is my CMP 1911a1. Serial number implies Remington Rand, and the slide is Colt. Manufacture date is 1944. I'm in California so I've got 9 more days until I can pick up. This was identified as a Field Grade and it looks and feels nice, there are no rattles when shaken, nice solid gun. Interesting heat treating marks on the slide. I'm definitely happy!!

REMINGTON RAND!!!
e-mailed 2/11/19 RNG 6526
Called 6-26-19, delivered 6-28-19 picked up today 6-29-19

Serial # on frame would make it a 1944 Remington Rand, with a Remington Rand slide :-)

I wanted to request either the oldest frame (hoping for a WWI) OR something unusual like a Remington on Singer etc. Lady on the phone said it was just "luck of the draw" so I got a Service Grade.

VERY HAPPY

Here's a couple pics of my field grade Colt/Colt. I don't see any rebuild stamps, maybe I'm missing it. I'm sure someone with better eyes can tell me more.

Default Service Grade Remington Rand Frame + Slide

I wanted to add pictures of what I received as everyone who has done it before made it easier to select a grade and I really appreciated it!

I took pictures on varying background colors as it helps give a better idea of what the color actually looks like.

Full gallery for those who want to see more

I received a beautiful service grade Remington Rand frame and slide. It is in excellent condition and was lubricated where the frame meets the slide and on the slide lock. There was some moisture under the grips as well, I have yet to clean and oil it up - but it is in amazing shape. Thanks CMP!
