I believe the one on the left is HRA and the one on the right is SA in the first picture.

My "P" looks like the one on the right, with the added lines comming off the "P"......so it is a post war Springfield?

Unfinished front handguard ferrules are "correct" for HRAs.

Okay, looks like I scored there, the finish isn't worn, it was never there in the first place. Curious that HRA didn't park this metal, though.

It's a serifed P, so is a post-war SA, I guess. Still, it's in excellent condition, within spitting distance of NOS, so I'm still a happy camper.

Thanks, it's the best of my three CMP/DCM acquisitions by far (others are a recent SG QHC carbine and a mid-'80s DCM SA Garand).
