Default 4.27 SA from North Store

I recently picked this Springfield 4.27m rifle up from the North Store as you see it. The only item that I find not correct as expected is the D35362 SA op-rod which was used post WWII on rebuilds. I have been told the hang tag that came on this CMP rifle is a USMC repair tag. I have no clue what the R-2 code stands for but it would be pretty cool if it just meant the op-rod was changed out by the USMC.

That's the nicest rifle I've seen posted from recent acquisitions. Very nice. Congrats!

I agree with the others. Very nice looking rifle. Super cool find with that repair tag. Adds to the coolness.

That is beautiful. Easily worth twice what you paid for it. Those 4.2 million SAs are hard to find. The USMC tag is a huge bonus.

That is pretty nice. Those tags were turning up pretty frequently a couple years ago but I haven't seen any in awhile. It's nice that the serial number matches. The one I got had a different rifles serial number on it.

Nice rifle. Your sling is installed inside out, though.

If the front sight ears are really wide, that is correct on these early post wars. Also many were assembled with the modified gas cylinder lock instead of the high hump.
