Default Flea Market Find

While visiting my wife in Texas a few weeks ago (she's a Reservist on active duty), we attended the Round Top flea market which is an event unto itself. Goes on for about two weeks and encompasses the area in and around Round Top, TX. A sight to see. I stopped in one of the few little shops that had military / firearm-related items. I found a few things that I was interested in, had a nice conversation with the owner and bought a couple of items. On another round through that area a little while later, he called out to me that he had something he wanted show me. He showed me this...

I have one of the Hollifield Dotter systems for the 1903 rifle but I'd never known that they made them for the US Service Pistol. Of course, I had to bring this one back home with me. I really appreciate him calling me back to see it. I've done a little research and Steve (thebearpack) sent me several pages out of one of Meadows' books indicating that the Ordnance Department contracted for about 2,200 of these in 1918. I think it's a neat find and am happy to have it. Just thought I'd share it with you all.

That's a very cool score. It looks well traveled. I wonder where all it's been in its lifetime.
