Default New guy IL/WI

Hi everyone! Due to an impulsive purchase of a complete M1 trigger housing over 2 months ago, I am now neck deep in parts, literature, and enthusiasm for my first M1 assembly. The trigger housing was marked B M B, and those three letters have guided this first project so far ("hey, where'd my paycheck go?!? oh ya, "). I'm just waiting on the barrel and receiver to return from the gunsmith, so I can begin putting the rifle together. I am trusting a professional for proper head-spacing and all that goes along with that. Want to learn to do that myself, though. Did some reading on it, but I did not want to destroy pieces of history. I am looking forward to participating in all the CMP has to offer.

Welcome to the forum!
Indeed, a roundabout (and usually more expensive) way to get started, but Garanditis can strike in many forms. Glad you did and that will better help you to know your rifle. You'll find lots of helpful peoe and resources here. Look forward to you sharing the results (hint: lots of pics!).

Regards,
Rob

Thanks Rob. Pics will probably be up in 2 to 3 weeks. Barring any disasters...

Very nice! Don't own a BMB myself (one day), but many here who do. Very interesting tiger stripe pattern to the hand guards...don't usually see that with the CMP stocks. I'm sure they would really stand out once finished.

You should share the photos in the Garand section...either your own thread or in the Official M1 picture thread...lots more visibility there.

Regards,
Rob
