Default Movie Serial Numbers

Watched a movie where the recruits were handed a M1 rifle and told to read off and memorize the serial number. The numbers could have been scripted but I think they were reading off the actual ones.
Anyway, thought it would be interesting if one of our forum members had one of these rifles. They are as follows:

1954257
1217596
3622438
1473828

Those are all legitimate WWII serial numbers, with 1217596 sounding like a Winchester.

I have a friend that played in that movie. He recently passed away. His name was Chuck Love and he was an E-7 when he played in it. He played a recruit. Tough guy.

Someone may have posted this in a different forum, but it deserves re-posting.

There is such a thing as the Internet Movie Firearm Database.

Unfortunately, neither "Take the High Ground!", nor "The D.I." have listings. But, since it is a wiki, someone here could add the information.
