I was fourth in, got the last M1D combo. Later one was put back due to cracked stock. I got a 5 digit SA, haven’t done any analysis other than noting lack of rebuild marks. See other post about grabbing 2nd rifle, IHC , now with buyers remorse.

Congratulations on the purchase! I wish I could make it back down there to pick up one of those M1Ds!

Cobra was right on the money. Unless you want a dressed out D there was no reason to go. These field grades are not the same as we all came to know in the past. They are all pretty rough, more like a rack grade. There were a few gems in the bunch. I helped an older gentleman pick out a field grade IHC with LMR barrel, IHC op rod, IHC trigger housing, and gas cylinder. I saw a Winchester with an LMR barrel and a IHC with a WW2 Winchester barrel. Today when I left at 2pm everything was the same as yesterday and there were two Ds with scope etc.. still in the rack.

Visited the Marksmanship Park today for a bit of fun. What an awesome place!

The Creedmoor Sports store had 11 CMP rifles. Based on quick notes -

2 MID, one with CMP stock
3 IHC FG
2 IHC SG
2 WRA RG
2 SA 6M SG

Can't comment on any details.

Made the trip here (Saturday) and am first in line. Hoping for a real nice M1D. Have thought about it for a long time and finally doing it. The complete set is what convinced me. Are most or all of these Arsenal done and but CMP builds?

Good luck, canít wait to see what you get. Does anybody know if CMP will be open Good Friday? We will be traveling to the area on Thursday night and I want to go to the store Friday or Saturday.

The M1Ds that the CMP is selling with all the accessories are arsenal built, but the USGI accessories are matched up to the rifle by the CMP.

Here are the two rifles (both Field Grade), I purchased at the South Store Thursday. Front rifle is the IHC with Winchester barrel, and nice SA USGI stock. Has IHC bolt and op-rod, as well.
Darker rifle is WRA 6-digit, HRA bolt, everything else SA. Both rifles were in need of a good cleaning and lubing! Cleaned up stocks and applied several coats of BLO. Other than a couple minor issues with worn out/damaged parts, these old warhorses are ready to go again. Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Anniston, and my visit to the Talladega Marksmanship Park!

Were there any more 1903a3 rifles or any 1903 drill rifles?
