So when is the store going away?

How do you know this?

Asking so that I can try to take my kids there before the store closes...

The store isn’t going any place, don’t lose any sleep over this concern....

The facts:

The current South store location serves many functions so no additional overhead for building space.

All rifles are shipped from this building so shipping staff also handles rifles for store purchases, no additional cost.

Sales department that handles mail orders sale handles in store purchases, no additional cost.

The two armorers that are already on staff operate the store three days a week, no additional cost.

I think the way the store is operated is an excellent business model and it’s good PR for those that visit the store, range or courses.

Well done CMP. JMTCW

Plus the mere existence of the store motivates a LOT of people to make a special trip to hand select their treasures instead of rolling the dice with mail order. All those sales and the good PR they create alone make the store worth keeping open. And that isn't even considering the traffic the store brings to the TMP. I have to agree with Tom, the store isn't going away as long as there is still inventory to sell.

Ballpark 20 rifles sold per day from the store X ballpark $800 average per rifle = $16000 in sales per day give or take a few thousand. I think they can cover the overhead.

Well, we'll see...but then again, the North Store had rifles at one time too. Seeing how there has been a shift of focus over time, I imagine hackberry isnt really bringing in the crowds.

Some of us dont go to a place we dont work at several times a day either.

That is a good point about visits to store often. My wife accused me of having a girlfriend at the CMP when I started doing the report because I visited there so often!!! NOW she just calls it my UNPAID job😄😄

And I have to say Tom, she's a saint! I read your reports every day, twice a day. I sit here and lament some of the reports because I'm twelve hours away. I wish I could just run over and grab some of the goodies while they're still on the shelf, but my wife doesn't want to move to Birmingham.

Thank God you do what you do...because when I make the next marathon drive (September hopefully), I'll at least have some idea what to expect before getting there.
