I'm not sure when Inland transitioned from a type 1 to a type 2, but my Inland 312k has it's original type 2 stock. I would think there was an overlap where both could be correct.

Interesting. My 6-digit Inland SG came from CMP with an I-cut RMC stock.

I would believe the correct stock for the OP would be an oval cut stock

Here is an original rifle.. 248k with oval cut

I believe the carbine club has original rifles in the 229k range with oval cut high wood stocks
