Default Ft. Benning 1911

If any one ends up getting a 1911 with Serial # 1234567 I know where it was in from February of 1962 till June of that same year. It was in the arms room beside the MP duty desk in the Provost Marshall's office at Ft. Benning, GA. The Officer of the Day would come in on our shift and fondle it and I was always suspect that it might disappear when he was transferred. However, it was still there when I left Benning the middle of June of 1962. I no longer remember the manufacturer but the Serial number has always stuck with me.

I am sure, at one time there was, still around, don't know. It would have been one of 23,386 Colt's manufactured in 1917/18.
