The Eddystone bumped up to $3,900 w/ 65 bids. Somewhat puzzled by this...

JA (Johnson Automatics) barrel indicates rebarrelled for WWII. This one has me puzzled as well.

I think this may be too high of a serial number for it to have been Sgt. York's 1917. That probably can't be the explanation for the high bids at this point.

For all those out there who do not win the Eddystone M1917, I would be willing to part with my CMP M1917 for only $100 less than the top bid.....

and people with more money than common sense bidding. It has a Johnson Automatics barrel on her and is a WWII rearsenal. If I saw that at a gunshow for 1k I'd tell the seller to lay off the crack. However........good on CMP for selling it and making some $$!!!

This is totally baffling - it's a reasonably nice WWII REBUILD, for heaven's sake! Sure it's not Alvin York's rifle?? CC

It's a $650 re-build rifle on a good day. And I wouldn't pay even that much for it, just crazy!
