Default Current 1903a3 Barrel Options

I've been looking lately for a new .25/06 or .270 barrel for a '03a3 project... and not having much luck locating one. Am I missing something or are these just very rare these days due to the lack of gunsmith support / interest in re-barreling 1903 actions? Criterion sells .30/06 and .308, and weirdly enough they stock .270 for the Garand... but no luck with an '03.

Again, it seems like I'm a few decades late to the game...

try shilen great barrels you can't go wrong. I bought a 30 inch blank in the twist and cal. and had the gunsmith turn it to where I wanted it. thinking about putting on a 32 inch barrel in 280 rem on my Swedish rifle

all the major barrel makers offer any cal, for the 1903, I would pay to have it threaded, extractor cut, cone breached and short chambered, not hard to find a smith to install, depending on the cal, you may have to buy or rent a finish reamer..
I do these all the time... not tough

Thank you! I wasn't aware the vendors would do the additional work above selling the blank... which was the source of my frustration. I saw Criterion barrels already available in .30/06 and .308, was looking more for this "turn-key" solution with the other calibers. Got it on the finish reamer. (was planning on renting one)

Do you have a recommendation on a gunsmith in the SE that can do this work? My "go to" gunsmith has apparently retired.

Call Criterion directly. They bored me a .308 Win M1903A3 barrel several years before they made them standard.

I sent you a PM about an HSV gunsmith.

Excellent! Thank you! HC-7 mentioned having a Criterion barrel available... if they'd work one up in .25/06 that'd be the way I'd go I think.
